This tutorial requires basic knowledge of PSP and Animation Shop. It was made using PSP8, but should work with other versions. |
Step 1
step 1
Make a new image in PSP. It doesn't need to be too big, mine is 50 x 50. Fill the background with a gradient by clicking on the foreground [top] color in your paint palette and clicking on the Gradient tab. Make sure your gradient settings have 1 repeat. Make the angle 0, and it doesn't matter if you check the Invert box or not, that just changes the direction of the colors. The color of the gradient doesn't matter since you can colorize it later :) After you press OK, click on the flood fill tool and click anywhere on the image to fill it in with your gradient.
Step 2
step 2
Go to Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise and make your settings like mine.
Step 3
step 3
Press Shift+L to colorize. Choose whatever hue you want, and keep the saturation at 255 (if you want gray, make it 0). You should get something that looks like this.
Step 4
step 4
Add sparkle brushes or draw in your own sparkles in white with the 1px paintbrush tool. Do this 3 times, and put the 3 frames together in Animation Shop. [To do this copy and paste the first frame normally, then click on the second frame, copy, and press Ctrl+Shift+L in Animation Shop, and do the same for the third frame.] You should get something like this;
