This tutorial requires basic knowledge of PSP and Animation Shop. It was made using PSP8, but should work with other versions. |
Step 1
step 1
Open up the glitter fill you want to use in Animation Shop. I'm using this one:
Step 2
step 2
There should be 3 frames of glitter. Select the first one, and press Ctrl+C [or go to Edit > Copy] to copy it. Paste it into PSP by pressing Ctrl+V [or going to Edit > paste as new image]. Do the same thing for the other 2 frames. You should now have all 3 frames of glitter open in PSP.
Step 3
step 3
Open a new image in PSP and make the text that will go on top of the glitter. I made some glass text with my name on it to put over the glitter fill. :]
Step 4
step 4
Open another new image in PSP. Click on the foreground color under your color palette.
Step 5
step 5
Click on the "Patterns" tab near the top, and you should see your 3 glitter fill frames in the drop down box. Click on your first frame of glitter [Image 1].
Step 6
step 6
Click on the paint can tool, and then click on your blank image to flood fill it with your glitter fill. Now go back to the text you made, and press Ctrl+C to copy it. Go back to the glitter fill image, and position your mouse outside the image [this is so it will go exactly in the middle, and your glitter fill won't look weird when you're done]. Press Ctrl+E, and you should see your text on top of the glitter fill.
Step 7
step 7
Go to Selections > Modify > Expand and choose a number for the width. I usually use 4-8, but you can use whatever size you want. Click OK, and go to Selections > Modify > Unfeather [this will smooth the edges if you used antialias text]. Put 150 for the Threshold number.
Step 8
step 8
Copy the image by pressing Ctrl+C and pasting it into Animation Shop.
Step 9
step 9
Go back to PSP and press the undo button [or Ctrl+Z] until your image is blank again. Do Step 5 again, but this time, choose the second frame of glitter [Image 2]. Follow step 6 & 7, but instead of pasting into Animation Shop, copy it and press Ctrl+Shift+L [or go to Edit > Paste > After Current Frame] and it should show up after the first frame that you made. Do Steps 5-7 again, but this time for the third frame of glitter.
Step 10
step 10
In Animation Shop, go to View > Animation or click the filmstrip icon to preview your animation and make sure you did everything right. If you did, you should get something like mine;
